https://pscjournal.pk/index.php/pakistan/article/view/148
<div class="page" title="Page 1"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <p>Analyzing and assessing the reports from American think tanks can provide insight into the overall understanding and strategic direction of the United States regarding the implementation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor over the past decade, which is crucial for better advancing its development. This paper uses 32 documents from 10 American think tanks as samples, employing bibliometric analysis, content analysis, and summarization methods to construct a three-dimensional analytical framework. The aim is to clarify the main perceptions of American think tanks regarding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, along with its characteristics, causes, and impacts. The research findings indicate that, driven by Cold War mentality and realpolitik interests, American think tanks generally have a predominantly negative perception of the construction of the CPEC,and various forms of propaganda. In response, it is essential to enhance the voice of Pakistani media, strengthen cooperation with international organizations, think tanks, and academic institutions, and proactively address and refute the misinterpretations and smear campaigns by American think tanks, thereby fostering a more accurate understanding and recognition of the CPEC within the international community.</p> </div> </div> </div>Dan Yumeng, Sun Tong

https://pscjournal.pk/index.php/pakistan/article/view/149
<div class="page" title="Page 1"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <p>The present piece of research devolves into the history of freedom struggle by pinpointing the role of Muslim students in search of freedom from foreign rule of British imperial masters. The Muslim struggle for freedom in the Indian subcontinent started with the avalanche of 1857 and culminated in the establishment of separate Muslim homeland in the form of Pakistan. Indeed, various motives and compulsions worked behind it. It goes without saying that growing political consciousness among the Indian Muslims and their increasing apprehension about their safer future provided raison deter for their political struggle in India. During this rigorous effort, several forces, organizations, groups or classes of the Muslims played a very significant role to liberate their homeland from British raj. The role of Muslim students in our regeneration and liberation is comparatively more conspicuous, crucial and constructive. They definitely acted as the vanguard of the Pakistan Movement particularly in the last two decades i.e. 1930s and 1940s. This research endeavour, however, highlights the pros and cons of Muslim students’ politics with reference to their efforts they made for the liberation of their homeland.</p> </div> </div> </div>Altaf Ullah

https://pscjournal.pk/index.php/pakistan/article/view/153
<p><em>The Pakistan-Iran relations have experienced fluctuations in the last five months of 2024. On the one hand, the year began with military strikes against each other, while on the other, there have been high-level visits aimed at strengthening bilateral relations. This paper explores the current situation of Pakistan-Iran relations, providing a brief historical overview and offering recommendations for the future. This analyzes the current scenario, keeping in the view the historical perspectives by focusing on military assaults, diplomatic strains, their quick resolution, and subsequent high-level visits, such as those by the Iranian Foreign Minister, the President of Pakistan, and the Pakistani Prime Minister's visit to Iran in the context of the incident. The paper particularly emphasizes cross-border terrorism, the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline, trade relations, the Barter Deal, and the impact of US sanctions, all these have drastically altered bilateral ties. Finally, there are no major conflicts between the two countries, minor hurdles can be overcome. US sanctions remain a significant challenge, which both countries could jointly address through China's involvement in the context of the new Cold War.</em></p>Dr Samina Yasmeen

https://pscjournal.pk/index.php/pakistan/article/view/151
<div class="page" title="Page 1"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <p>This research investigates public perspectives on the impacts of climate change and adaptive strategies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, with a focus on vulnerabilities, coping mechanisms, and resilience at both individual and community levels. Using a mixed-methods approach that includes field surveys, focus group discussions (FGDs), and expert interviews, the study provides an in-depth analysis of how climate change affects various aspects of life in the region.</p> <p>The findings reveal that climate change presents a significant threat to the public, leading to widespread consequences for health, daily activities, and livelihoods. Key vulnerabilities include limited access to resources, healthcare, and decision-making processes, which further exacerbate the community’s challenges. Gaps in awareness programs and capacity-building efforts hinder effective preparedness and response, leaving the community inadequately equipped to handle climate-related risks.</p> <p>The study emphasizes the critical role of existing social structures, such as families, community elders (Jirgas), and local leaders, in supporting resilience, although coordination with local authorities remains inadequate. Recommendations highlight the need for inclusive climate adaptation strategies that integrate culturally appropriate communication in local</p> <div class="page" title="Page 2"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <p>languages, ensure equitable distribution of resources, and empower local leadership in decision-making. The research advocates investments in education, healthcare, and economic opportunities to build resilience, with a particular focus on promoting gender equality in climate change adaptation efforts.</p> <p>By addressing these gaps and using traditional support systems, this study proposes community-centered solutions to enhance climate resilience. It aims to inform policies and interventions that improve preparedness and resilience to climate emergencies, contributing to a more sustainable and equitable future for all residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This study adds to the growing body of knowledge on climate change adaptation by integrating public perspectives and suggesting strategies to address vulnerabilities and build long-term resilience in vulnerable regions.</p> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div>Asghar Khan, Zia Ur Rahman

https://pscjournal.pk/index.php/pakistan/article/view/152
<div class="page" title="Page 1"> <div class="layoutArea"> <div class="column"> <p>In face of the challenges of the 21st Century, Pakistan needs to address some of the social problems that, when properly addressed, have to play a key role in the establishment of a just and stable society. Some of the outstanding social issues are: injustice in all forms, corruption, poverty, and other anti-social practices including violence and terrorism—to name a few. These social issues have alarming negative impact on the socio-cultural network of the society ranging from: personal to institutional and national levels. Such problems are rooted in the marginalization of masses which is partially because of the low, inappropriate, and rigid education system. The knowledge, skill, and attitudes compendium is the essence of any standard education system, however, the Pakistani education system focuses more on the knowledge aspect, a little bit on skill aspect, while neglecting the attitudes aspect altogether. This attitudes aspect is usually the major concern of peace education. The aim of this research paper was to pinpoint the major challenges, related attitudes inculcation, and the possible role of peace education to present practical recommendations for transforming the Pakistani society.</p> </div> </div> </div>Habib Elahi Sahibzada
